1. INDIAN MONSOON (GEOGRAPHY)

Monsoon Basics :-

Causes:-  Difference in Heating of the earth's surface..creates High pressure and Low Pressure areas and winds comprising moisture blow from H.P to L.P causing Rainfall in the continental area.

ROLE OF DIFFERENT FACTORS :-

LATITUTE :- Subtropical Region --- North of Tropic of Cancer
                        Tropical Region --- South of Tropic of Cancer

ALTITUDE :- With increase in height Temp. falls ,

PHYSIOGRAPHY :- The Himalayan range prevents the cold wind from Siberia to enter India.. If                                           there was no Himalayan range, India would be extremly Cold.
Also, India is surrounded by water bodies in its south. If there was no water body, Southern India would be extremly hot.

WESTERN DISTURBANCES :-  caused by the winds blowing from mediterranean sea. called as WESTERLIES in punjab ,haryana and UP causing rainfall there.

PRESSURE and WINDS :- The winds blow from SW to NE in summer causing Rainfall and the reverse in winter.
